Tyler Gerking was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel’s 7th Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois on May 9, 2019. Mary McCutcheon presided over the meeting as she completed her term as President of the College.

The American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC), established in 2012, is the preeminent association of U.S. and Canadian lawyers who represent the interests of insurers and policyholders. The ACCC’s membership currently stands at over 300 Fellows. Its mission is to advance the creative, ethical and efficient resolution of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; to enhance the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law; to provide peer-reviewed scholarship; and to improve the relationships among the members of our profession.

Rounding out Farella’s participation in the College, Jennifer Bentley, a summer associate at Farella in 2018, received First Prize in the ACCC Law School Practical Skills Writing Competition.

Tyler Gerking has a commercial litigation practice focused on recovering money for individual and corporate policyholders under all types of insurance policies, including commercial general liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, professional errors and omissions liability, employment practices liability and first-party property policies.

Mary McCutcheon represents policyholders in insurance coverage disputes arising out of: securities investigations, class actions and derivative actions, venture capital and private equity litigation, intellectual property and technology errors and omissions lawsuits, highly sensitive employment claims, mass casualty personal injury actions and construction defect claims.  She also represents companies in business interruption and property damage claims arising out of natural disasters such as earthquakes and fires.  Ms. McCutcheon is known for the placement of directors’ and officers’ liability, management liability and financial services liability insurance and related indemnification issues and handling claims under those policies.  She is a founding member of the American College of Coverage Counsel and chairs Farella’s Construction and Insurance Department.
